Holy basil is known for its antioxidant, neuroprotective, and radio-protective properties, which are believed to provide protection against aging.

In Ayurveda, holy basil is recognized as a "Rasayana" herb, which supports the improvement of health and longevity. Additionally, holy basil has several other helpful actions. It serves as a digestive stimulant, carminative, and antispasmodic due to its volatile oil content, promoting digestion and digestive health.
